Jenna's Life

The last time I wrote in this journal was in 2005 the best and worst year of my life. Hopefully next time I'll have more time to write. But for now, it feels good to have a part of my old life back.

Maybe livejournal can rise from the dead again.

What? Stranger things have happened.

After tomorrow this semester will be done in two weeks, I can hardly wait :)

This semester flew by so fast, fall semester usually does though. After this only 2 and a half years of school, pretty sweet!

Thanksgiving break was a good one. I was able to spend some time with Amy, Julie, Maygan, and Kristen. It was so nice, I miss everyone so much sometimes.

My life is good, my back is horrible but things are looking up...

And you know what the best thing about college is? You are able to only let the people you truely care about into your lives!

I've come to a conclusion! And a mighty fine one at that. I've been pretty stressed out lately. And of course my back is dead, thankfully I'm going to a physical therpist Thursday! I think a lot has to do with being stressed and holding a lot of things in.

Sooo, I'm not going to anymore!

Sarah, Nicky, Nate you guys don't update nearly enough and I miss you. And I tried to suprise you while you were home Nate by showing up at your house randomly, and well, the suprise was on me! Hah, because you weren't there. Nicky the present I have for you is a shirt and four pins, I'm wondering if you'll ever get them because I'm too scared/lazy/poor to send them to you... I think I'll grow some balls and send them out. Sarah, I miss hearing your guy stories and I pray a lot that living with guys is working out for you. Chuck, I'm disappointed and quite upset with you, have been and still am. And that felt good to say that. Andrew, I haven't spoken to you in a long time and I hope college is going well for you. Danni and Maygan, I was so happy to see them the other night and I had so much fun, and I'm going to admit I'm very jealous of Danni's dog, it's too cute!!...


I have so much more to write, but I have to meet some girls for supper.. then walmart for some pain killers!!!!! :)

Speaking of good ole friends, I must thank Sarah for spending me a livejournal boot in the ass, or else I probably would not be posting this entry. The only time I find myself visiting livejournal is to read what Sarah, Nicky, and Nate are up to! Usually their entrys result in me laughing my ass off.

I'm sure you all know by now that for two weeks after Christmas I will be going to Italy, I couldn't be more excited!!... But boy oh boy the traveling bug has bit me and I couldn't be more antsy. I want to travel to Michigan to see Sarah, to Arizona to see Nicky and Nate... maybe it will happen. Usually when I want something really bad I make it happen...

I hope you three are doing well :) This post is for you...

Commandment #1
CLOSE NOT THY MIND TO ANY IDEA, NO MATTER HOW DIFFERENT, HOW NEW NOR HOW DIFFICULT IT MAY BE. If our world ever needed a great new idea, or a great new method to apply to an old idea, it is now! If our nation ever needed a grand new strategy, the time is now! Openness to new ideas is vital to your educational health.

Commandment #2
REMEMBER THY EDUCATION IS A PROCESS OF BECOMING, NOT OF COMPLETING. Often we become so concerned about passing the tests, making the grades or satisfying course (state) requirements, we forgot to learn…forget to think. It is more important to evolve into a learning person that to complete any single educational task.

Commandment #3
WALLOW NOT IN THY SCHOLARLY VIRTUE, NOR BE BLIND TO THY ACADEMIC SINS. The person of genuine intellect is one who is quite aware of how much s/he does not know. S/he is also aware of how tiny a fraction of the universe s/he really is.

Commandment #4
RESPECT MOST HIGHLY, THY LIBRARY, FOR IT IS THE RICHEST SOURCE OF THY INTELLECTUAL FULFILLMENT. The library, no matter how few books it might contain, is always a goldmine of ideas, most of which are new and precious to you.

Commandment #5
REVEL, BUT NOT FOR REBELLION’S SAKE ALONE; NEITHER SHALL YE DECLINE TO REBEL MERELY BECAUSE TO DO SO WOULD JEOPARDIZE THY FUTURE. There are two types of rebels: one with a cause and one without. The latter merely destroys. The most common kind of causeless rebellion is self-abuse (alcoholically, sexually, and physically). The former is absolutely necessary for human history to progress.

Commandment #6
TAKE NOT THYSELF TOO SERIOUSLY NOR LET THY ASSIGNMENTS INTERFERE WITH THY EDUCATION. Books and formal study habits are not everything in the academic world. An intense discussion may have more lasting educational value. If you express your ideas playfully, are willing to assert them in head-on intellectual clashes, and place less pressure on grade averages, you might learn something quickly and more permanently.

Commandment #7
CHEAT NOT THE SYSTEM NOR THYSELF. Cheating is not doing your own work; cramming for exams/papers; letting your health diminish; engaging in high-risk behavior. Basically cheating the academic system only results in cheating yourself from realizing your potential.

Commandment #8
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PSYCH-OUT THY TEACHERS, FOR EVEN IF YE SUCCEED, YE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS/HER WEAKNESS TO HIDE THINE OWN. When you spend a lot of your energy trying to “figure out what the teacher wants,” you will inevitably end up tired, skilled at manipulation and uneducated.

Commandment #9
BLAME NOT THINE OWN TRANSGRESSIONS, OMISSIONS AND DEFICIENCIES UPON THY SCHOOL. If you are not getting what you want out of your educational experience, look to yourself. Take responsibility for your own learning. No one else can do it for you.

Commandment #10
COUNT NOT THE VALUE OF THY EDUCATION IN TERMS OF MONETARY GAIN OR LOSS, FOR THE DEGREE TO WHICH YE DO SO, YE ARE NOT EDUCATED. It is true there are many well-schooled people out of work. You need to become delighted with the fantastic wealth in education for your enjoyment and enrichment. A truly educated person is always in the process of learning something new.

Three weeks to go! And I'm sure these are going to be three very hectic weeks as well. To be honest with you I think I'm already stressed out! Haha :) Oh well, what's new right?

This past week we had vacation and I worked at the mill a couple times. Everyone laughs when they hear I'm a security guard, and honestly, it makes me laugh too! One morning I woke up at 4:30 to go in and another day I worked from 11pm to 7am! Such odd shifts, but it's okay.

And I'm back in Farmington, it was so nice being home. Mostly because of the beautiful weather, I love being at my house in the summer. But I couldn't be happier to be back here, home, at the dorms whatever you would like to refer to it as. This afternoon I have to go back into work which sucks and makes me agitated. I'm covering for Jamilyn, and it's not her fault either, she shouldn't have been scheduled for that time. But that's life I suppose, I'll live.

If I could wish for anything in the world right now, I would wish to be back in summer '05. Tat summer was a lot of fun. Mostly spent with friends whom I miss like crazy.

By the way, Sarah, I love reading your livejournal entries, they make me laugh. Looks like I'm going to stay away from veet for a while :)

One other thing that made me wicked happy this past vacation, The LunchPad... I miss that place like crazy, I'd give anything to work there one more time!

And looks like it's time for me to get ready to head home. Just like the Jenna I am I forgot my make-up and hair stuff at home!! Can you believe that? Hahaha, the most important things. Thankfully I live a hop, skip, and a jump away.

Life is good :)
College is great; I'm loving life.

Growing up, making plans... realizing the we control our lives now is wonderful. Katie and I have been talking a lot about what's going to happen in the next few years and such! And I'm excited because we intend to live in an appartment in a semester or two :) We're hoping to find one where we can have pets!! :) Which mean's Jenna will have a little puppy if we can!!

Ohhh! Yes, I almost forgot. Guess who's the new security guard at the Mill? Yes, that's right. Me! Hahaha, better watch out, I hear I get a truck to drive around in and everything. And the pay is going to be pretty good too which I'm very excited about. Looks like I might be able to go to Italy for New Years afterall!!

Every day that goes by I miss my old classmates and friends from home. I think about you guys all the time. The only thing that make's it bearable is that I have made some really good friends up here. Next semester we're moving to Dirty Dakin! Hahaha oh goodness.. Looks like it's 222 Dakin, some of you had better come visit!

Unsolved Mysteries is on, and I need to finish up a few things for my SED Class tonight :)

I have decided that I loooove Valentines Day :)

Hahahaha guess what Katie did! I walk into the room and there are rose petals from the door to my bed! Hahaha, I walk to my bed and there is a huge caterpiller stuffed animal smiling at me. I burst out laughing and then I looked to the right and saw a potted plant. Now that is what Valentines Day is all about!!

He has currently punched two cars in the past two days! Why you ask? Hahaha, because they didn't stop for him while he was in a cross-walk! Now that made me laugh!

Movie night tonight with some of my favorite girls :) The past two days have been interesting to say the least!

I couldn't be happier rooming with Katie, hahaha it's so nice to live with a good friend. Here's a conversation we had last night!

Me: I can't believe Pat took my pillow :(
Katie: Jenna (I see a little hand reach down from the top bunk with her special purple pillow in it) would you like to sleep with mine tonight?
Me: Yes :) Thank you Katie!

Hahaha, it was so funny at the time, because it was a serious conversation, I was sad that I didn't have my pillow!

I'm missing everyone from home though, and at the same time I'm loving meeting new people!

So far it's been go to bed at 1, wake up at 7... I'm exhausted!! Hehe

And as far as last night goes? Two random visits, both welcomed. Hahaha, Pat and Rhode Island(nickname I gave him)! And guess what we did!! We hooked up a baby pickle to wires, plugged it in, and BAM the pickle lit up, it was so awesome... And yes, we got it on tape!

I've decided that I think I'm going to like living in Purington :) Katie and I have a really cute room. Last semester we met a girl named Kayla that lives on this floor and we seemed to really hit it off with her, and it's cute because she keeps bringing people into our room to show them how much we changed it. I guess the previous people that were in it kept it messy and smelly.. Hahaha... Her boyfriend was like, "It smells like girl" it made me laugh.

The other day I recieved the greatest news ever! Megan bought tickets to see Fall out Boy and The All American Rejects (I think?) I couldn't be more excited! Oh, and Ben invited me to Tia and Damon's wedding! Life is good :)

Well, Katie and I are going to head off to breakfast in a bit! Then it's English, a break, lunch, and then Psych!!

What a wonderful holiday :)
Actually the whole week different family members of mine were sick, I actually caught it on Thanksgiving and it's still with me.. haha, but it's all good.. you know why? Because I got to see a few of my favorite people in the whole wide world!! :) Hahahaha.. and I mean it too

Tuesday - I had class, dentist appt (no cavities!), hair appointment (I have some highlights and lowlights), and I had dinner at Amy's house with her, Chuck, Daisy, Jordon, Chuck's Dad, Lisa, Kate, Cliff and Laurie... it was so nice

Wednesday - Amy and I took off to North Conway for the day and shopped our little buts off! Later on that night I headed over to Nicky's house to have dinner with her, megan, and her parents.. God I missed that girl, she's looking good guys, Arizona is treating her well!

Thursday..Thanksgiving was fun, I was able to hang out with Jaime for a little bit and it was so nice seeing Mike and his girlfriend, she's so cute. Not to mention all the food, it was as good as ever.. My mom was sick though so she wasn't able to go. Once I got home I stayed home and laid on the couch.. hahaha we were all sick

Friday - I was as sick as a dog... But the night ended well... Andrew, Ryan and Nik came to my house to visit me.. Hahaha, poor guys.. I pretty much looked and smelled like shit but they still managed to give me hugs. I needed it too... they waited for me to get ready and we went to Jake's house! It was sooooooo much fun... Danielle, Nick, Amy, Chuck, Jenn, Jake, Andrew, Ryan, Nik, Joey, and of course I was there... it was a nice get together, I was just happy to see everyones faces again.. It was sad watching everyone go...

Saturday + Sunday worked.. and today, still sick.. :(
But it's okay, because there's only three weeks until I see the gang again... or until I go on break!

Mmm, this weekend was possibly the worst weekend I've had in quite a while... I was happy to kiss it goodbye!

Things seem to be getting better--more and more details keep coming out that make me feel better in certain ways and not so much in other ways.

In other news I cannot wait for everyone to come home for Thanksgiving. I'm so psyched to see everyone again, although I'll probably just see everyone once, but I'm not going to complain, because once is better than none!! I'll have to check out my work schedule, I'm actually kind of sad because Jamie told me that normally everyone at Rite Aid works the day after, and of course it's family tradition for our family to go. I suppose that's a part of growing up eh? And I really could use the money...

Katie and I were naughty.. Hahaha, we spent a little too much money on something that we probably shouldn't have because we're broke, but we're happy girls because we did!!...

My poor Sam is getting her wisdom teeth removed thursday, but I'll get to see her friday with presents, so I'm excited!!... I even saved the money my mom gave me this weekend to pick her up some stuff.. haha :)

Hmmm!!... Two tests tomorrow, I'm a little stressed, but whatever... I'll live, eh?... And guess who's joining the UMF band? Hahaha oh yeah, that's right... I wasn't kidding when I said band geek for life!

Ever since college started I've been horrible about updating my livejournal, I'll have to get better at it!

Today Katie taught me the Electric Slide!! :o] I still suck, but I promise I'll get better... it's so much fun!

I miss everyone from home like crazy!

She was daddy's little girl, momma's little angel, teacher's pet, pagaent queen... She said all my life I've been pleasin' everyone but me, waking up to someone else's dream...
--Does anyone else ever feel like that sometimes? Most of our lives we do what pleases our parents, peers, and teachers. It's hard discovering that you don't know what you want sometimes... I guess that's what's so wonderful about college, it's all up to us...... we create our own destiny now...

My bad luck hasn't subsided yet!.. go figure :op

Oh yes, I just wanted to let you all know that I've been having problems with my cell phone for a while now. If I don't pick up or don't get your voicemail please don't get upset, my cell phone just doesn't like me, plain and simple. Oh and one more thing. More often then not my name will appear away on AIM and then come back and I won't answer when you write to me. That's because Mare is on her screenname and it usually kicks me off aim and then gets back on, except my away message is gone...

In other news my foot is even more screwed up! Hah... I had to work two 8 hour shifts this weekend at Rite Aid, over half the way through my second shift my foot started filling up with fluid, I had to go to the hospital. By the time I got there I pretty much had The Nutty Professor foot! Hahaha, you can laugh, it's okay... So I have a broken toe, hair line fractured foot, SPRAINED foot (from this weekend), and swollen foot. I have quite a few things I need to do + wear.. it sucks...

Last Friday I went with my friend Felicia to watch her boyfriend play football against Greely. Her boyfriend is one of the best players on the team and he got a touchdown, it was awesome!! You know what's even more funny? Well, at the field it was freezing and raining... and just not fun... Well, this woman gave us her umbrella so Felicia and I were cuddled together under it and at one point we were the only people on the visitors side... someone snapped a picture and it made their news paper! Hahaha... I guess it was a decent picture we were both smiling... that makes me laugh...



Life couldn't be more confusing, and there's too much darn homework... although my bed sheets are clean again, and they've never felt better.. Also got my hair cut today with Mare, that was nice...

I suppose that's it for now, except that I miss everyone like CRAZY... Even I didn't realise how much I loved our school and class, I'm definately feeling it now...

You know what's even cooler? The assaults happening against woman at UMF.. sweet
